Paweł Żukowski – Dr. Habilitated (Physical Sciences), Professor, Head of Chair of Electrical Equipment and High Voltage Equipment of Lublin Technical University, Poland

(Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science)

 

Paweł Żukowski was born August 27, 1950 in Minsk, Belarus.

In 1972 he graduated from the Physical Department of the Belarusian State University (BSU). In 1972–1976 he worked as Junior Researcher at the Department of Semiconductors of BSU; in 1976–1979 he was a postgraduate student of the Department of Semiconductors of BSU; in 1979–1985 – an assistant, a senior lecturer of the Department of Micro- and Optoelectronics of the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute (at present – Belarusian National Technical University); in 1985–1993 – a senior researcher, head of the Research Laboratory of Physics and Chemistry of Nanostructures of the Department of Physics of Belarusian State University.

 

In 1980 he defended his PhD thesis on the «Processes of Defect Formation and Amorphization of the Single Crystals of Semiconductor Materials» at the BSU, in 1992 he defended his Dr. Sci. thesis (doctoral habilitation) on the «Dynamic Phenomena in Highly Defective Semiconductors» at the University of M. Curie-Skłodowska in Lublin (Poland)

 

Since 1993 up to the present he works at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of Lublin University of Technology (Poland) as a Professor, and since 2003 – as a Head of Chair of Electrical Equipment and High-Voltage Technology.

 

The President of Poland decorated P.V. Żhukovski with the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland (2012) and the Cavalier Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland (2003) for his achievements in science and training. He was also decorated with the medal of the Commission of National Education of the Republic of Poland.

 

Since 2009 he is a commissioner of the Rector of Lublin University of Technology for cooperation with universities of Belarus.

 

Paweł Żukowski’s main directions of research work at the present time are: the creation of nanocomposites metal – dielectric; studies of their chemical composition, structure, electric and magnetic properties and their application in electrical engineering and microelectronics; development of physical and mathematical models of the conductivity and magnetic properties of nanocomposites and their experimental verification; diagnostics of insulation condition of high voltage transformers of large power by non-destructive methods; development of new methods of humidity control of insulation based on cellulose and transformer oil.

 

Paweł Żhukovski has trained 4 Doctors of Sciences and 7 Ph. Doctors.

 

He is the author or coauthor of 154 articles published in scientific journals indexed in the Web of the Science (a complete list of publications indexed in Web of Science can be seen at http://www.researcherid.com/rid/F-2329-2010), the author a large number of publications in other journals and international conferences prococeedings. He is the author of more than 20 patents as well.

 

Paweł Żhukovski is a member of the editorial boards of seven scientific journals, viz.:

Paweł Żhukovski was the organizer of nine and co-organizer of 11 international scientific and technical conferences, he participated in international program committees and organizing committees of over 30 international scientific conferences.

 

He fulfilled research projects financed by seven grants of the Ministry of Science of Poland and by one grant from the European Union.
