Vladimir Ya. Raspopov – Head of the Department "Instruments for Control" (Tula State University, Russia), Doctor of Science (Engineering), Professor. Expert in the field of theory of gyroscopes and gyrostabilizers, micromechanics and microsystem technology, UAV avionics.
In 1962 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Fine Mechanics and Optics with the degree in Gyroscopic Instruments and Devices. He worked in the Instrument Engineering Design Bureau (Tula, 1962–1967, 2002–2006). During the period of work in the PCU he participated in the development of the theory of scientific foundations of design and the first samples of gyro-instruments with limited working time.
He has published more than 300 scientific papers and more than 35 copyright certificates and patents of the USSR and the Russian Federation. He is the author of 5 monographs, co-author of 3 monographs, co-author of a textbook, author of 7 textbooks, co-author of two chapters in two collective monographs published in the USA.
Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Honorary aircraft manufacturer, full member of the Academy of Navigation and Motion Control, laureate of N.N. Ostryakov prize and S.I. Mosin prize.
Member of the editorial boards of journals: "Gyroscopy and Navigation", "Directory. Engineering Journal", "Journal of Instrument Engineering".
